Acme Gridley TechDrive Conversion

By virtually eliminating the entire mechanical gearbox and replacing it with an independent servo motor and variable speed spindle motor the benefits quickly become apparent.  Far less maintenance and downtime, shorter setup and changeover times, exact feed rate and spindle speed settings, just to name a few.  The resulting effect of improved efficiency and increased productivity becomes a noteworthy cost savings to enhance your bottom line and competitive edge.

Ingersoll USA offers complete in-house Acme Gridley screw machine rebuilding and repair, machine retrofits and custom engineering, CNC and motion control automated processes, turnkey part set-up and job run-off, along with new and surplus Acme Gridley screw machine replacement parts, tooling and attachments.

Acme Gridley screw machines are excellent candidates for rebuilding, with their ample space and rugged construction.  The National Acme Company produced more than 60,000 multispindle automatic bar machines and automatic chucking machines in over one hundred years of manufacturing.  We provide rebuilding and remanufacturing service for most all model Acme Gridley multispindle screw machines.

Starting with a quality second hand machine, we completely tear it down to the base frame, then rebuild that machine to the original specifications and standards.  This gives you a virtually new machine at a fraction of the cost of a new multispindle lathe.  

We guarantee the performance of all screw machines we rebuild, and may also perform retrofits and engineer custom attachments or other automation and solutions to be installed during the rebuild process.  Our attention to detail, and commitment to customer satisfaction will guarantee you a positive experience from start to finish.

Advanced machining capabilities

Multispindle CNC Lathe

Through our partnership with European supplier CNC Project srl, we are able to offer the North American market remanufactured multispindle CNC machines based on the frame of a six spindle cam operated machine, the Index MS25E.

Starting with a bare Index frame, a mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical reconstruction applies AC motors in place of many of the original shafts, clutches, and gears.  Equipped with the Hirth coupling system, the radial, interlocking teeth allows the spindle carrier drum to automatically center itself with extreme precision and accuracy after each index.

With bar capacity of 26mm, or up to 32mm when equipped with an integrated bar loader/feeder, the IMX 26/32 and the hybrid IMH 26/32 machines combine advanced multispindle CNC lathe capabilities with the versatility, speed, and accuracy that is essential in today's highly competitive machining environment.
